about U11A
U11 Cricket at Trojans
Our U11 section caters for players in Years 5 and 6 and is where young cricketers make the exciting step up to hardball cricket for the first time. We run two U11 teams to ensure every player gets the right level of challenge and enjoyment, from those making their first foray into hardball through to those ready to compete at the highest level of junior cricket in the county.
U11 cricket is played as a traditional hardball game, representing a significant and exciting step up from the soft ball pairs format of the U9s. Players now experience the full game with proper batting, bowling and fielding in a competitive match environment, helping them develop their skills and grow their love of the sport.
Both teams compete in the Serious Cricket Hampshire Junior Championships (SCHJC):
U11 A — Our A team is mainly made up of the more confident and experienced Year 6 players who are ready to test themselves at the highest level. They compete in the U11 Tier 1 League — the most competitive tier of U11 cricket in Hampshire, where matches provide a real challenge and push players to develop their game.
U11 B — Our B team provides a development-focused environment for players who are transitioning to hardball cricket and building their confidence in the game, competing in the U11 Tier 2 League where the emphasis is on enjoyment, learning and steady progress.
All U11 training takes place on Friday evenings at the Trojans Ground, Stoneham Lane, from 18:45 to 20:00, starting from Friday 17 April. Matches are played on Sundays from 3 May onwards. 🏏
