about U13A
U13 Cricket at Trojans
Our U13 section caters for players in Years 7 and 8 and is one of the most important and exciting age groups in the junior section. This is where young cricketers really begin to develop their game in earnest, with longer training sessions, more demanding match formats and the opportunity to push themselves against some of the best junior cricketers in Hampshire.
U13 cricket is played as a full hardball game with extended match formats compared to U11, giving players more overs to bat, bowl and field and allowing them to develop all aspects of their game in a competitive environment. For many players this is the age group where cricket truly comes alive, and the step up in standard and intensity brings the best out of developing cricketers.
Both teams compete in the Serious Cricket Hampshire Junior Championships (SCHJC):
U13 A — Our A team is made up of the most experienced and confident Year 8 players who are ready to compete at the top tier of junior cricket in the county. They compete in the U13 Tier 1 League — the most challenging and competitive division of U13 cricket in Hampshire, where players are regularly tested and pushed to improve.
U13 B — Our B team provides a positive and supportive environment for players who are developing their hardball game and growing in confidence at this level, competing in the U13 Tier 2 League where the emphasis is on development, enjoyment and building a long-term love of cricket.
All U13 training takes place on Monday evenings at the Trojans Ground, Stoneham Lane, from 6:00 to 7:30pm, starting from Monday 20 April. Matches are played on Sundays from 3 May onwards. 🏏
