W10

W10 cricket is soft-ball cricket at its most fun, friendly and inclusive — and at Trojans, our W10 team is one of the most welcoming groups in the club. If you have ever been curious about cricket but never quite taken the plunge, this is the perfect place to start.

Played with a soft incrediball in a short ten-a-side, ten-over format, W10 requires no kit, no prior experience and no particular level of fitness. You simply turn up, have a go and enjoy yourself. Some of our players have partners or children who play cricket and decided it was finally their turn. Others played a bit at school, or remember hitting a ball around on the beach as a child. Some had never picked up a bat in their lives before joining us. It really does not matter — there is a place for everyone.

Training

Summer training takes place on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Check the Teamo app for the exact schedule as sessions can vary week to week. During the winter we also run indoor sessions, so there are opportunities to keep playing and stay connected with the group throughout the year.

Festivals

Festivals are a highlight of the W10 calendar — sociable, light-hearted events that are all about getting active, learning new skills and having a great time with a fantastic group of women. There is usually tea, cake and the occasional glass of prosecco involved. Indoor and outdoor festivals take place throughout the year and are open to players of all levels.

League Cricket

For those who want a bit of friendly competition, we compete in the Hampshire W10 Central Division. Matches are typically played on Sunday afternoons and follow adapted rules designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for players at every stage of their cricketing journey, from complete beginners to more experienced players.
